The fantastic flavors and colors of Spain surprised Lebanon’s high society on Saturday September 22 at Le Royal Hotels & Resorts – Beirut. The Fiesta de España attracted over 260 guests, evoking images of Flamenco music and dancers, matadors with black masks, sophisticated sangria and delicious dishes from tapas to paella. While the fiesta’s many attractive ladies fanned themselves at dinner tables in true Spanish style, the gentlemen put on their Zorro hats, in tribute to the mythical character who fell in love with a beautiful Spanish woman. Among the guests was a distinguished party from the Embassy of Spain in Lebanon, who enjoyed a ‘piece of home away from home’.
In the meantime, Spanish Flamenco dancers impressed onlookers with their moves, while Le Royal’s beloved music artists, who included Caroline Karam, Paul Zgheib and DJ Gio made sure the Latin flair captivated all those who were present. Adding to the varied culture of Spain, the ‘gypsy’ fortune-teller revealed what the future holds for interested guests. Some were already demonstrating their good fortune, thanks to a draw with many gifts, including two tickets to Spain, fancy massages at the Royal Spa, products from Dr Burgener, a three-day car rental, and a teeth-whitening treatment from Smile Creators. Reporters and photographers from many different types of media were there to cover this dynamic event that added an international element to Lebanon’s social scene, with an interesting touch of culture too.
